AMS Tyres and Exhausts was established in 1993 in Winner Street, Paignton, with only two members of staff. The business maintained steady growth over the next nine years, providing MOT testing, Servicing, Tyres and Exhausts.
In 2002 the company relocated to a significantly larger premises, still within Paignton, which is now the current head office branch in Torquay Road. This enabled a dramatic increase in stock holding and allowed the company to provide an even higher quality service to all its customers.
We have invested heavily in keeping one step ahead of the competition and are now the largest independent tyre and exhaust centre in Torbay. We currently hold in excess of £180,000 worth of stock and are normally able to provide customers with their requirements on the same day.
As well as our massive range of car tyres we also stock a large selection of the most popular motorbike tyres. We have a dedicated Motorbike ramp and are able to provide a ride in ride out fitting service for tyres, chains, sprockets and exhausts.
Services
We specialise in Total Wheel Alignment and our Hunter Digital Imaging Aligners are probably the best on the market. The technology that we use allows simultaneous checking of Camber, Caster and Toe angles on the front axle and Camber, Toe and Thrust angles on the rear axle. This allows us to give a complete picture of a vehicles alignment and means we can identify problems that would not be found using conventional alignment tools.
The system also allows you to provide an accurate 'before' and 'after' printout of adjustment readings which we give to the customer as evidence that alignment correction has been made on their vehicle.
We currently have contracts with many of the Main Dealers in the Torbay area to provide this service for them.

We are able to provide both car and motorbike MOT testing in our Paignton branch.
We have the facility to fabricate custom exhaust systems using 304 grade stainless steel for virtually any car or van. These can be made to follow the original design of the exhaust system or can be bespoke to a customers own design, we carry in stock a large range of silencers and tail trims and can cater for most peoples requirements.
All our branches have installed the latest in Nitrogen Tyre Inflation equipment. Nitrogen offers many benefits compared to compressed air, more information is available on our nitrogen page.
